  • Publishing RSS feeds to your own webpage?

    #1
I did a quick search. Hope this isn't a repost. I am in the middle of an intro web design class (for non majors) and unfortunately, my teacher isn't the most prolific at web design. Sad story, I know. So, anyways here I am on the GD forum instead. I was reading about publishing RSS feeds to your own web page. Basically I want my recent blog posts to feed to the "recent news" section on my sidebar.

These are some of the suggested services I found on one site:
I haven't even looked at them yet, to be honest. I was hoping for some personal input on these services or maybe the ones you like to use. Free preferably. I am still a student Please keep in mind that I am in an INTRO class, so I would prefer the most simple to use/install/whatever.

I am also looking for advice on what you have found works best when getting rss to work and integrating it into your page. Nah mean?

    Thanks in advance y'all.

What blog software do you use? This feature is built into most blog publishing software like Wordpress.

I don't think there is really a leader in this area.

I use wordpress, but that's not what I mean. I want to take the feed from my blog and embed it on my home page (which isn't the blog, but the rest of the site) as a recent news section.

      see sidebar: http://batlground.com/batlgroundbeta/test.html

I found what I am looking for with that one, but it take a while to update the design when you change it. I changed it right after I made this thread and it still hasn't updated. So a better one would be nice.

And that's not what I meant. As long as you're on the same domain, you can include part of Wordpress into your normal site and run it to show the most recent posts. It won't work if your file extension is .HTML, (only .PHP) but there's a way around that.

Oh ok. I will look into that. Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for checking back! I am so new to all of this. I appreciate your time.
