Yeah sorry, I'm not sure I get what you mean...
This post is brought to you by the letter E and the number 9. Those are the buttons I push to get a Twix out of the candy machine.

If the name of your company/business is Fierce Graphics, give us reasons why you would consider using the initials MS other than those being your name.

Ehh, the only reason you might want to do this is if people are searching for "fierce graphics" in high volume.

Say you're a company that sells toilets, called The Best Flush, and you manage to get a hold of cheaptoilets.com, but want to maintain your company's branding. And even then it's kind of sketchy.

So, short answer, no, this is a bad idea.

since those are his initials, he might not want to post his full name on the forum.

Your logo really needs to relate to your company (or in this case, website domain). When somebody sees "MS" as a logo, they're not going to make the connection between MS and FierceGraphics.
It wouldn't make any sense at all to use an acronym for a logo unless the acronym is that of the domain name (or company name).

It depends - B&Q is a DIY (do it yourself) company here in the UK. It uses DIY.com as its domain name. This works very well as the two names have become inter-twined with the industry and market they are in.
VanishDesign's illustration works on the same level - they both indicate the same thing or are easily related.
I don't think it is a good idea to stick simply with MS when your doamin name is fierce graphics.
Think about how are you going to answer the phone? - and that will be your company's name!
By all means you can incorporate the MS into the logo but you should do it in a discrete way that does not take away from the companies name.
