  • test connection please

I'm in a little predicament today where as some people have said that they cannot get to our sites and yet every test that I have given it says we can...even remoting into three different locations and services.

So if you all can let me know if you see the image....muchly appreciated.

Drazan, I'd be very interested in hearing what the problem was once you track it down. Drives me crazy when stuff like that happens...

P.S. FWIW, Alertra can do a spot check on individual files from several geographic locations, and the links in the retrned results will show you the response headers for each one.

So results are: Everyone in the world can see it - except the client.

                      really.

I'm moving them to a new server tonight with a new IP. Hopefully this takes care of things.

                      Thanks for checking!!

it was across 15 computers, not a cache problem. Their network peeps said it's our server, and our server peeps said it was them. Meanwhile I & the Client are in the middle of it all. I've never had a domain do this before. (that's over 1,000 domains) So between resetting the chain and everyone else saying nothing is blocked, the only other quick option I have is to move the site to another server which happens to also be in another location. SO if anything in the hops happens to be broke, this will allow the path to the server to be entirely different.

Now we are just waiting for the DNS switch, which is managed by yet another IT person.

                          oy,,,

This is all happened after ComCast had a big downtime earlier this week. It was "fixed" but it also seems to have glitches.

We just purchased a new server and had planned on migrating from this server, but didn't plan on it being an emergency. **sigh**

Yep, sounds like a problem in the cloud. We've had the same thing going on with a client half the week, except the issue is with email that's being forwarded from one domain to another. Network people on both ends keep saying it must by the other guys, and monitoring both servers shows zero packet loss.

I know this is going to drag on into next week and I'm NOT looking forward to it. *sigh*

I like that you are answering the 'why' questions. Why is the text background red, why are you using the crumbled paper texture etc.

I have been designing for about 10 years now as a freelancer and am entertaining the idea of trying to find a job at a creative firm. Right now I'm building my resume and portfolio...
