Post your entries (1 entry per person) here. Cut off date for submitting photos will be Sunday July 24, so we have a week to vote.

You can host photos for free at www.imageshack.us if you like.

Editing software may be used for usual processing (cropping, tonal and color adjustments, resizing), but no outside elements, objects, or images can be pasted, drawn or added into the original image. No elements, objects, or images can be cloned, cut out, or taken out of the original image other than what occurs from cropping.

                    Lonely in Suburbia

I've been meaning to take this picture for a while. There are never any cars or people on this one side of the street. Makes me feel like I'm living in a ghost town.

I have a question. I have a very creative photo of my neighborhood however I did not take the picture and it will be quite obvious. It was NOT taken by a professional either. To be honest it is of very poor quality but I think it's a creative idea. Can I enter it?

Ok, I'll just post it anyway. Here's my neighborhood, my house is smack dab in the middle of the picture with the curvy sidewalk.

OK! Here's my neighborhood. It's just under an hour away from LA. It's a bit of a high elevation, so you can cross the street at night and watch the fireworks at Disneyland! Also, you can see where our neiborhood is from the giant scary Ferriswheel at California Adventure. Enjoy!

                              awesome entries everybody!

Keith, that's a great shot! Very unique perspective. Unfortunately, I can't include it in the voting if you didn't take the photo, but thank you for sharing! Nice sidewalk, btw!

Yes, I see the contrast can be improved, thanks. I will try some more styles too, perhaps more minimal, or using lines/outlines instead of shapes. Any comments on the style, if in fact there is a style...

The other images that were provided, luckily, had their own clipping paths so they were not an issue. I've used this process numerous times before (which is why it was frustrating when it didn't work!),...

The curvature continuity "smoothness" of the shoe shapes needs to be cleaned up.

The problem you're facing is one I face all the time. The easiest solution is to create a clipping path in photoshop. You haven't missed any steps, it all starts because transparencies and spot colours...

thanks for the comments. it sounds like using a full width header is a better option. no more comments please - i have taken down the logo from my host account. cheers!

                                - Kerning needs attention.
