  • lighting problem, help!

    here's the situation. I have my digital rebel, a cheap flash, a tri-pod, a large roll of white fabric, and a set of spot lights (the halogen ones you see at home depot that light up a construction yard at night etc.)

    my project is to take that and do some product photo shots of a big copier, a software box and a computer screen. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this to acheive a white background and get the product to pop the best? any ideas or thoughts would be helpful

      theres all kind of tricks, white material or paper in front of your flash so flash goes up and around not right on it, play with a couple umbrella type things on your lights, if you want it on a white bg, and your shooting computer a copier etc. find the most contrasting color of all the images your shooting like if everything is more white get a black bg and then use photoshop to replace the background. You will need to experiment with the background color so you dont get reflection of color onto your equipment. check out magazine like popular photography's website they always have great tips

        Clients pay you to come up with ideas. They can select a designer based on their portfolio. That's what a portfolio is for. But shopping around for custom work and paying only if they use it is wrong....
