  • Searching for a monitor...!!!

    #1
    Hello

I actually have a Viewsonic P225FB CRT 4:3 monitor that I wish to change.
I have an eye on the Dell U2311H 23" 16:9 IPS panel monitor.
Price on it looks nice for my budget.
My main usage is amateur photography and post-processing.
Is it a good choice or something else should be considered?
    Thanks

    Luke

I just bought a Samsung Syncmaster F2380. I like it a lot, I won't buy dell out of principle.
Crisp definition very nice quality overall I haven't calibrated it yet for colour

I just retired my last CRT it was a LaCie 21" from 1998!

      Hello Mikehun

      Samsung Syncmaster F2380?
      Interesting...I will check it.
      Are you fully satisfied yet?

I really like it for the combined price and features, it can rotate 90 degrees and has very great comparable features to higher end monitors, same resolution, colour gamut range and brightness. I was worried about it under-performing in Photoshop image adjustments and colour corrections but no problems there.
It received high overall consumer satisfaction ratings...comes in white too!

Matches my new 2010 Mac pro tower...spend most of the budget on that!

Purchased at best buy in Canada was $275.00 CDN not bad I couldn't justify $2000 for an apple 30" HD or a LaCIe @ $900.00

        So happy? Yes I am.

            That's what I call a weird reply.
There has to be some sort of subtlety to laugh about...I guess!
            But still..weird!

            For Mikehun
            Thanks for the advice!

What Broacher posted was a picture of a monitor lizard.

Maybe you knew that, I just thought that since your forum name is that of a popular French comic strip character, that maybe your first language is French, which may have a different term for "monitor lizard."

Or, maybe not. I'm always eager to jump in and clarify things if there's a chance it will add to the confusion.

                  I got it.

                      i agree with BigDosgStudioX.
Dell brand is useful and recommended by most photographers and designer too.
                      go ahead

I'm afraid I'll have to go out looking for a new monitor myself soon. My Viewsonic E70f is playing games on me And I always dreaded this moment cause I absolutely hate working with LCD's. But since CRT's are nearly extinct and all, I might have to suck it up BIG time (not happy about this at all)!

Yum. I do love salmon sandwiches. The bakery near me do great smoked salmon bagels. It's not a bagel shop so they don't jack up the prices.

It won't stay this way ... but, they have to get all the bugs worked out first and then we will worry about cosmetic issues
