  • Which free OSX 3D program for newbie?

    Hello all,

I'm looking to create 3D geometric shapes and render them from different angles, so no bells and whistles needed... I guess.
I have no experience with 3D software, all I know is Adobe products.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Look into Blender.

      Thanks PD,
Isn't the learning curve a bit steep? I'm looking into AOI right now but will install Blender as well!

        No easy button. Sorry.

It may be worth having a look at Google Sketch up. Whether its output will be of use to you might depend on your longer-term objectives with respect to 3D work, but the way it works is actually very cool and using it is easy and enjoyable, even when you first start.
I'd rather be killed than come to your party, but if you don't invite me, I'll kill myself.

Don't know if it's exactly what you want, but if you're a college student you can get an 3-year license for Maya by Autodesk for free.
