  • Transparency in InDesign showing through

    #1
I createdseveral images ofphotos within circles and made the outside of the circles transparent. (in Photoshop, saved as .psd files)

When I place them in an Indesignfile with a solid background, the imagesseem transparent onscreen but print out with definite boundaries. I set the transparency flattener to high resolution to see if that made a difference, but it didn't help.

    Any solutions?

try flattening your photoshop files to a .tif file and try that, not to sure if it will fix your problem though. what os are you using, and what version of ps and id?

I have this all the time. Your best bet is to save the transparency file as a psd file and when you know where you are going to use it, open your psd file and add a layer below your other layers as layer one with the background color you're going to use on the webpage.
Then save the whole thing as a .jpg.
That way the transparency color will be the same and you should not be able to see the shadow.
          Good Luck!

I imagine there's all sorts of fan art out there in this style for inspiration. You already have the banner templates, so just find an interesting way of using them. It doesn't have to be overly complicated...

Good points, although I'm unsure how to correct this without starting it all over from scratch and scrapping the whole idea. I'll have to think about it.

Yes, I got the general idea from my copy of Gulliver's Travels.

I had hoped that I could convey the seasons with the colors and leaves, with the greens representing Summer and Spring and...

I can't see the image because of the new upgrade. Do they like it?

Unfortunately I don't have access to any other programs, gah. Question about crop marks...are they necessary? This may sound like a silly question, but for the invitations, the design itself is very simple...
