  • Photoshop Text dissapearing during editing?

    #1
I did a search for this and nothing turned up (I also dida search for Photoshop and nothing turned up on the forums???).

Has anyone had this problem: In PS 7, during editing text - some of the letters dissapear from view, yet they are there once you finish editing them. You have to kinda quess that you are typing the correct thing then close editing the text to check it.

    Anyone?

my text only disappears if it's bigger than the textbox constraints.

sorry...have you looked on the *ugh* adobe forums?

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

Yea, I checked there. It couldn't find anything. It is a strange problem. It almost gets kinda garbled looking, where the old text and new text are there/not there. Kinda hard to explain. I wonder if I can screen shot it...

        Figured it out

Turns out it was the image resolution. The reason it's not showing up is because,

        1. The Resolution is so god damn small that the font size has to be something outragously big to see.
        2. The Resolution is so big that it appears out of the text field so you have to work in font sizes a tenth of an inch big.

        How to fix this?

        Press Ctrl+Alt+I
Check the resolution, and change it to the normal 72 DPI; after that everything should roll smoothly. If the image is enourmous or super small; simply Press Ctrl+Alt+I again and resize the image to it's origional size.

Doesn't Ctrl+Alt+I invert... or am I missing something?

Text Glitch; Nope = Restarted PC & Photoshop
                DPI Settings; Yes.

Photoshop is not ideal, but if that is all you have, design at the correct size from the start, use CMYK, draw in crop marks outside kf the trim edge. Find out about bleed and supply with bleed if required....

I just found a feature I had over looked on how to get to the last unread post in a thread. I give the solution at the following link.

I have had more time to explore the new forum features and will add a bit to this. After the results are loaded you will be presented with a list of posts that look like the graphic below with some icons...

As a printer, if I change a file for a design client, I know the color won't shift. But. If the design client sends an entirely new file, I check it to be sure the color won't shift. There are so many...

I think I am getting a bit better with the pen tool, but let me know if you see where I can improve? Also, if there are areas to improve the illustration style, thanks?...
