  • InDesign: Won't let me change font size

    #1
Hi all, I'm sure there's a simple solution to this one. For some reason InDesign won't let me change the text size by clicking the up or down arrows - they are blanked out (see below). It is like that for all text boxes, it doesn't matter if they are newly made or already there.

Any help will be much appreciated.

try the character palette, or maybe the you need to fix it in the style sheets

Is your text selected? Can you ctrl-shift and use your arrow keys < > -- this will increase/decrease by increments of 2pts.

I can't get it to do this, but I know I've had this problem. Running CS3? On PC?

Are you using your item tool (black arrow) or content tool (white arrow)? You need to make sure you're selecting your text with the content tool, and have some text highlighted.

Otherwise, it could be your font is missing or corrupted. Try changing to a different font face.

Can you select the size in the font size dialog box? It looks like you don't have the text selected with the text tool.

            I like the LIKE button.

it is a quick way for me to say "i like it" without adding to the length of the thread or needing to type and submit. a quickie if you will.

If you highlight and show your paths and anchor points with the preview of the illustration, you'll likely get more specific feedback.

I'm starting to redo most of the illustration. I started again by doing another simplified, vector like sketch of my original sketch. I've only finished the face area. Anymore help you can offer?

Vintage is a very broad term. Vintage could = Victorian or it could mean1970's. I hope that you and your client narrowed nailed down the vintage era they are looking for.
