    i NEED ideas for illustrator. I need to take a photo and use illustrator to draw over it. Has anyone done this before? Can i see what you did with it so i can know what i can do and what looks good?

    Any help that you can give me would be awsome

      a good start might be to do something in photoshop to help separate the colors... just depends on how much detail you want. guessing this is for a student project or something? btw, i see your in grand rapids... that's cool, i live about an hour away from there. there's a few other g. rapidians around here at times. welcome aboard!!!

      if you feel you are not properly sedated, call 348-844 immediately. failure to do so will result in prosecution for criminal drug evasion.

        yes it is for a school project. all ive dont so far is outlined the dog and am now using gradients and different colors to try to get a similar picture but keep it slightly cartoony/artistic

          here'sa crappy abstract thing i did by tracing with the pen tool and then playing with itin photoshop.
          its not that good, but at least you can see the trasformation.

            good one silence,

            I do this all the time for logos. i'll sketch stuff out and then scan it in and clean it up in illustrator.

                I actually realized how my technique got screwed up, I forgot one very important part, resolution, to kill the jaggedness you have to make it like 2400dpi and then do it, that way its on a smaller scale. oh well to late now
