• Transparency in Illustrator

I'm trying to save an Illustrator CS file as an .eps and place in Quark 6 so that the background will be transparent. I know I've done this before, but it's not working, and I can't figure it out. When I view the page in Quark with the graphic imported, it shows up as transparent, but prints with a white box. In the Clipping dialog box, there's no option for Alpha channel, or any other kind of clipping (even though in Illustrator I saved to preserve Alpha transparency). Please help!

The only thing that might mess it up, I'm thinking, might be that the file has lots of 3D effects in it. I did flatten before saving, though. Soooo frustrating.

I created my first signature in 12 years of not touching Photoshop or any graphics program in general. What do you guys think?

Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to say ''never use it for wide format.''
It gets used all the time for some very very large things. I recently did a 16' x 87' backdrop built in Photoshop. It was printed...

Generally like it a lot. Pretty different and that's cool.

Was thinking that I might like it better if I didn't have to click on the icons, that content would appear as you scroll down....

Yeah, I have noticed they aren't as rich as I would like them to be. Luckily it seems like most of her stuff is going to be about online anyway. Thanks for the advice!
