  • How to make only one side of a square a dotted line?

How would one make only one side of a square a dotted line? Or a different color, or some other format change which would not affect the other three sides?
    Thanks!

It may not matter, but someone always asks - what program?

I'm not that familiar with CorelDraw but going to go out on a limb and say you can't. Effects will affect the whole line segment. You probably have to do a workaround that involves that one side being a separate line.

Sorry--I started out on the CorelDraw X5 forum but didn't see a way to post a new thread. By the time I found a New Subject button, I guess I was elsewhere...:-)...

Can you work with three sides on one layer and one side on another?

I don't see how that would be any different from putting a dotted line over a solid line on the same layer--in both cases it would appear as a solid line....

Why? the first layer would only have 3 sides.

Is this what you're trying to do?

As someone who sometimes designs book covers, a realistic design needs to consider the sales brought on by shelf appeal. And shelf appeal doesn't just depend on aesthetics; it also depends on grabbing...

I like that you are answering the 'why' questions. Why is the text background red, why are you using the crumbled paper texture etc.

This shows that you are thinking threw what you are doing...

                Hey @someguy,

Thanks for sharing your designs! I would encourage and challenge you to try to narrow your design focus. Right now none of the designs are 'bad' but none are 'good'. Design,...
