  • Laptop for graphic/furniture designer

In the beginning of the new year i'm starting on my Master in graphic/furniture design (at a Danish architect school) and i definitely need a new laptop for my work at the studio and some freelance work.

The programs i use the most:

    Adobe; Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign
    Rhino (+ Vray for rhino)
    And some other 3d programs.

I've looked at a great amount of laptops and talked to all kinds of people about what laptop to by or what I need in my field. But everyone gives a different and confusing answer so I hope I could get some help here.

Mostly people say I need a Intel core processor. but a i5? i7? and generation? (it doesn't always say what generation it is?

And what about graphic card and RAM/memory? and other important stuff? - my last laptop sounds like a hairdryer (even when i only listen to music) so I would like a good "blower" or what it is called.

And brand, i'm considering a Dell? but what about Toshiba or Mac? Not HP!!

    My budget is max 1700USD.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
