  • Iris - Color palettes editor

    Hi everyone,

I am the developer of a new desktop app called "Iris - Color palettes editor".

I'm writing here to ask if there could be someone interested in trying the app and give me some feedback on it (bad or good). I believe this application could be very useful for graphic designers in general and I would like to improve it as much as possible, so I'm looking for people that are willing into giving me some constructive opinion.

Quoting from the description: "Iris aims at being the definitive design tool to create beautiful color schemes to use in your projects."
I recently released the first version of the app, which is available for macOS and Linux. More information and download links are available at http://irisapp.info.

    Thank you for reading,
I would be happy to share any other information that you would need.

Adobe already has Kuler. If you're into that kind of thing.

Most of the color theme stuff I work on involves Pantone.
But I've never felt the need to use their palette generator either.
    https://www.pantone.com/pages/panton...?ca=1&pg=20471

The reason? Color on a monitor or phone screen is not accurate. It will not print the way it looks, nor does it represent anything in the real world. We build a story board of actual swatches from a Pantone chip book, and if it's an exhibit, we'll also get actual laminate chips, flooring chips, wood finishes, carpeting swatches, fabric swatches, metal finishes and paint swatches all in one handy reference. Actually two. The client gets to keep one too.

        Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Just waiting for dinner to finish cooking. We are eating fashionably late this year. Mainly because the bird was larger than expected, but that 's ok.

You want a program that is used to dealing with vector axis data. Photoshop would probably be inappropriate.

The only way I can think to do this is to have a script written for Illustrator...
