  • Font problem...

    #1
I worked up a quick layout using Adobe Illustrator..when I went into Quark to recreate it, I noticed a font I used is not in the font list in Quark. When I checked the font book on my Mac, it doesn't show up there either...are there fonts that only work with come Adobe programs and only work with them? Thanks

I don't know the reason for this, but I have run across this before too. Typically (for me) there has been a layout done in Word (god aweful Word) and then when I try to recreate it in Illy I can't find a font or two. It's rare, but has happened and I don't know why that is.

I've loaded fonts in Fontbook and sometimes it doesn't take unless you restart your finder or reboot. For some reason the fonts would then appear in Fontbook.

Adobe has its own font folder. On the Mac it's in User>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Fonts.
Quark can't read them in there. And unless you know they are there, you can't put em in your font management.
You can move them out of the folder.
JUST DON'T remove the fonts from the folder called 'Reqrd' or you'll hose your Adobe apps.
