  • Drop Shadows

    Hi.
Our newspaper uses Quark 8.5.1, and we've had trouble with drop shadows. Sometimes, once we've placed a simple drop shadow on text, it will detach itself from the text and show up on a random part of the page. No matter what we do we can't select it to move or delete it. This corruption does show up on the page when we print them, so it's not just an error on the screen. The only solution we've found is to cover the "moved" and "permanent" drop shadow with a white box.
Any ideas what causes this? How to fix it?

    Thanks,
    JSD

Hi JSD and welcome to GDF.

We ask all new members to read the threads posted HERE, particularly this thread to get acquainted with how things work on GDF. They explain how the forum runs, the rules, frequently discussed topics and our inside jokes. Enjoy your stay!

I haven't worked in Quark in a long time but hopefully one of our members who does will be along shortly to help.
It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" Winnie the Pooh
