    Hi all,

I accidently entered my real name the first time I registered on GDF. Now I want to keep my same username but change the email address associated with it. How do I do this? Also, why should I not use my real name on the forum? I've a newbie to Web forums.

    Thanks

if you use your real name, people can google you, and sometimes that's not a terribly desirable thing to have happen. That's all.

      To change your email address:

      - go to "User CP" (top left of the thread)
      - select "edit email and password" on the left, 2nd line item
      - enter your new information and save the changes

That's all there is to it.

At some point in the future, a potential employer or client might decide to google your name just to see what comes up. If they click on a link that takes them to one of your posts here where you either: A) express your doubt as to whether a particular client has any brains, B) start a flame war with another member, or C) say something extraordinarily funny but extremely tasteless, (which most of us do at some point), they may view you as unprofessional and thus not hire you.

If Virgo Nightingale was my real name, a google search might have someone thinking I'm a total pervert who's obsessed with avocadoes. I don't want potential employers knowing that about me until I've worked for them for at least a year.

just hope that your boss doesn't google you then, JP! After that discussion about the eggbeaters and the shoehorn you'd be in hot water for sure!

no... why would I watch a bachelor party? I'm a girl.

Oh boy, I get the feeling that this thread has taken a bad turn...

edit: thank goodness I didn't use my real name!
(See? I can stay on topic! Pretty impressive, eh?)

                    Hello, welcome to the forums.

I agree that the puzzle pieces aren't quite in the "right" positions. I like the way they are placed randomly, but it's way too cluttered.

I'll say the same thing I say all the time. Design your logo in black and white. And design it with a pencil and paper, not on the computer. When I design a logo, the computer is only on maybe the last...

I like the idea, but not the execution. I also don't like that the puzzle pieces are so randomly placed. They look like a mistake. If you are going to do something like that, simplify it way down and...

The puzzle pieces are so small that when you scale it down, they get lost. I also think the logo image is too large compared to the text. I like how tracked-out you have the text, but I think the overall...
