Does anyone know ifthere is way to keep the transparency of a gif that was created in Photoshop,to also show up in Illustrator or Design Pro?

save for web or save as a copy. make sure to check your transparency options.

just remember that gifs aren't super great quality if you're looking at printing this stuff, web only really, so if you want to maintain transparencies for print, you should look at saving it in another format. just fyi.

    welcome to the gdf.

in any case, you should just be able to save the document as a psd and open it in illustrator.

As a side note, I just found that Freehand MX supports transparency in GIF and PNG formats now. Works very nicely.

With a GIF in Photoshop, don't you have to convert it to RGB color (from Indexed color) first, then do a Save As Web? Try exporting it as PNG-24, too... Sorry, not in front of my Photoshop machines right now.
