Those Elf on the Shelf thingys are WeIrd! *Back in my day* Santa was magical and all-seeing/all-knowing. He didn't need an elf to report back to him and tell him when you were bad!

The only alternative to Santa my mom and Aunt used was 1-800-NO-SANTA if we were bad out in public. THAT worked really really really well!
