Acrobat: How to fill-out pdf forms with Acrobat: Please help?
First, I apologize, because I'm not very experienced with Acrobat, but I enjoy the software and features that I can understand.
I did a search prior to asking this question, but I still need some clarification, please.
Question(s):
If I download a form that is a .pdf format
(for example, an application for graduation -or- financial aid information)
is it possible for me to fill-in the needed information
(Name, address, phone number, etc...)
using Acrobat?
I did a Run Form Field Recognition (Advanced - Accessibility) and a few fields were recognized, but when I type information it doesn't appear when printed or in print preview.
Can someone please give me a brief lesson on how to fill-out .pdf forms using Acrobat?
1. Did the .pdf need to be created in Acrobat, first?
1a. Is this feature (fill-in form) specified WHEN the document is created?
2. Can I someone create text boxes on top of the lines somehow to place my information?
3. Any suggestions or information is greatly appreciated!
I just would like to type my information so that it looks cleaner and nicer than simply 'handwriting.'
However, I'm starting to wonder if this is even possible with all .pdf documents.
Thank you, again, very much.

The PDF is usually built with that functionality before it is published. I've never tried it by downloading someone elses form that does not have that function built in.
I'd think it would be a round about way of doing things.

Drazan,
Thank you.
I'm thinking that it has to be created with that function as well.
Also, I've noticed a few websites are saying that there is a purple bar located near the top to indicate that the form is interactive. If the purple message bar isn't at the top, then the file is probably flat and not interactive.
Ok, which leads to me next question:
Q: If the file was not created with the interactive fill-in formats, can I create them myself - possibly somehow?

I've found a few, but my ignorant self can't seem to figure it out.
I'm detecting highlighted fields, but when I type in the field, the information doesn't show up when printed or in print preview?
UH! I'm sure it's just me.
Thank you.

When you search for something - the way to narrow down the results is using specific terms.
Terms like "how to....subject" or "subject...program ... tutorial" then if you want type "beginner" at the end"
I typed in "how to create a PDF form" and got several step by step tutorials.
In case you haven't noticed, many of the GDF people haven't taken the time to answer your continuous questions in detail, because for the most part we don't have time and there's already a ton of very well done resources out there.
Find a tutorial that works from the start and then figure out your method that works for you. You may need to read through it a few times to get it right.

Jade,
Thank you.
I will certainly type in your recommendation.
Yes, I understand your point completely.
I was just wondering if I could use someone else's pdf to create interactive fields, but I'm thinking not.
However, more help and feedback are welcomed.
Again, I appreciate your time and help, and I will search for more tutorials.
Thank you.

mos tforms that are fillable will allow you to fill them in right away, perhaps clicking on an area to write or hit TAB.
Otherwise, in theory, you could create a fillable form and either use the pre-built form feature to auto create forms, or do it yourself with the form creator pallette. then just draga box and name and adjust any settings, type size, etc. you can create radio boxes, check boxes.
Not on my Design computer, so i don't have all the "jazzy" features at hand.
I use Acorbat and the interal Form tool to create my Invoices.
