Logo Critique
Hey Guys,
I need some feedback on this logo, what do you think? It's not perfected so don't get to picky with it, for now I just want feedback on the layout, colors, concept and fonts. Ignore the weird wine bottles and jagged edges, I need to redraw those.
Thanks!

About the Company
I forgot to explain the company the logo was made for...It's for a Passover (Jewish Holiday) Program that is done in a fancy hotel with fine catering and obviously in Hawaii...

You really can't substitute bottles for the dots on the two Is....
it reads Hawauan. Kerning needs a bit of help too.
If the logo is only for an event, I'm not worried about your gradients. However, if it is going to be reproduced on shwag (giveaways) you may want to reconsider... A lot of promotional item places might have trouble with the gradient.

"by Philip & Dayna Klitzner" Doesn't belong on the logo. If you need to put that somewhere, integrate it into the design piece that you're putting the logo on.
It makes it look like they designed the logo.
Also, USE ILLUSTRATOR. This has been done in Photoshop. The pixelated edges of the palm leaves is a bit of a giveaway. There's no point starting a logo in Photoshop first.

I always assume pixellation is caused by converting to jpg for web before accusing someone of using photoshop. I let them dig that grave themselves.

What if you're using Photoshop to sketch out ideas using a Wacom tablet by hand?

I'm not sure, but I think it is spelled Pesach.

Why did you remove the dots over the i's in Hawaiian? Without the dots, two i's will look like a u. This reads as Hawauan.

Because the majority of your sketching should be done using pencil/pen and paper first.
Then create the vector shapes/illustrations in Illustrator. Creating shapes and organizing the various elements for a logo is much harder and requires more steps to accomplish, than it is in Illustrator. Work-flow wise, it makes no sense. Learn the correct practices now. Avoid bad habits.

One of the points of sketching is to force yourself to avoid colors and effects at the rough stage so that you know it works in black and white. Using a computer tends to temp people to utilize features they shouldn't be utilizing at the sketching phase.
