Fruit of the week Crit
So here i have a A5 AD which will be placed along with the same fruit to advertise it as the fruit of the week.
the text goes:
Lífræn ávötur vikunar = Organic fruit of the week
then a short slogan about the fruit.
In the left corner it says: trace the product.
I´ve got totaly blind from staring at this so please have at it and tell me if something horrible is wrong.
Best regards
Gunni

I do like the overall layout, but I find the halftone pattern to be a bit distracting. I'm also not crazy about the font, particular for the information lines. Too stylized, imo.

I agree the halftone is distracting... also does the purple circle get cut off? that seems a bit awkward to me.
The top treatment is nice, (minus the halftone) with the swoosh. Nice job there.

Thanks for the fresh eyes, when you mention it. I too agree on the halftone being distracting. Im going to tone it down a bit.
Not sure what I was going for by cropping the purple circle, guess i just found it plain boring not being cut.. or something
again thanks.

The crops in the circle didn't bother me since I thought it was supposed to be the little sticker they place on all the fruit so the cashier knows what code to punch in. If that's not what it's supposed to be, then it does seem kinda awkward.
I'd actually eliminate the halftone entirely. Even lighter, I don't think it would add anything.

I am not keen on the font. Hobo is about 100 years old and there is something really old fashioned about it. Fruit of the week should have a fresh, new font that is openfaced and clean looking.

As an aside, get a good photo retoucher on the kiwi pictures. That's going to help the appeal of this a lot. (I happen to be one. If you'd like to hook me up with the kiwi pictures, I'll get it done on the cheap, man. Just say the big man sent you.) Certainly, the kiwi is the most important element.
I totally agree on the halftone. Get rid of it.
If it's possible, I'd actually encourage changing out the orange color and sample a good brown from the kiwi. Again, because the kiwi is the most important element, it'll be what people notice first. People almost always favor a good picture over text, and the picture will complement what your ad has to say.

In addition to some of the previous comments like the halftone and font I'm gonna mimic Jack in that the kiwi photo is rather dull. Especially since kiwi are such visually interesting fruit. The color scheme is all over the place and isn't really all that appealing.
I don't mean to jump on the pile here but hopefully all the critique helps you out.

Maybe an important fact for this all was that this is supposed to be a generic template for a lot of different fruits. I have to throw up more examples.
I agree on the font, if you guys can point me in a good direction i would appreciate.

Study the fonts your client's competition use. That will give you an idea of what works and what doesn't work for fonts used in this kind of design.
