You're right. I adjusted it. Thanks.

I disagree. It would mean a lot to a company with a big marketing or advertising component. But that degree would only mean something if you also had the graphic design expertise also nailed down.

We hired a guy a couple of years ago (a videographer), and the deciding factor that separated him from the other top three candidates was an advertising degree that we saw as a bonus. And it wasn't some much the extra piece of paper, it was knowing that he went through an advertising program that taught him skills and attitudes that we thought would be beneficial to us.

Many human resources departments screen applicants, and if the job description said, "graphic design or related degree required," you'd likely make it through to the next round instead of having your application tossed into the automatically rejected pile.

I agree with that. What I meant to say is that I'm not posting on here thinking that since I have a BA in Advertising it means I think I'm ready for a career in Graphic Design. The two compliment each other nicely.

"The two compliment each other" ^ That statement is truly a double-threat so to speak. Now if you have a third talent say photography web-coding, motion graphics... drawing think of how much of an advantage you would possess with all that raw talent aaaannnndd The Advertising sheepskin!

My talents trail off from design after that. I'm a Personal Trainer at a local gym and a Hip-Hop DJ (not the turntable club type though, more of a music enthusiast).

That's why I was considering further educating myself in Graphic Design, to see where that goes and if other talents in that field may arise.

Should I go back to school to earn a degree in GD? Would it be worth working while earning the degree online (and where)?

Does anyone have any advice about how I can move forward?

And, from looking at my portfolio, can anyone offer some constructive criticism which may help my decision?

I appreciate all the responses thus far.

GDF has a no-follow on links. No need to post several to your portfolio.
