I'm not sure if you have all seen the film, but at the end, Travis attempts to blow his head off with a hand gun by putting it under his chin, but has run out out ammunition, he also places his finger up to his temple and pretends to shoot himself when the police turn up of the scene. The gun at his mouth is meant to be a visual interpretation of those moments.

i still don't think the gun fits the feel of the rest of the poster. you said it in your original post, the gun was for something different and you didn't want to feel like it went to waste. if you are set on using that gun, i suggest designing something around the gun instead of adding it on to another project.

seen the movie dozens of times ... that scene did not come to mind from your poster.

Looks like the gun is suspended in air and he is licking it.

Hope you have fun with the width tool. When it first came out in CS5 I almost peed my pants with excitement.
