Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and possibly share your knowledge. I volunteer for a small organization in Denver which is looking to give out some end of the year awards to some people. We have decided on a particular award and have a picture of it for now. We are looking to have it engraved with some words of encouragement and the name of each individual recipient. I have to get our volunteer board's approval on this project and need to provide them with a sample of this award.

I was wondering if there might be an online tool/program/software that would allow me to super-impose some text on the body of this award in the picture that I have. This way if the board wants to make some changes we are not wasting money on an actual award and I could just re-write the text and take print-outs to share with them.

Through some initial searches, it appears that the Illustrator program might do this but it looks quite expensive and every dollar saved helps our organization.

Again any advice or suggestion you might have for me is greatly appreciated!!

Check out Gimp. It's PC-only but would do what you want.
Don't try to submit artwork to a vendor using it though.

also, adobe offers a non-profit rate on its software. it's worth looking in to. also, the freeware vector drawing tool is inkscape. might give that a shot.

And speaking of Adobe, they let people download fully functional copies of most of their software that are good for 30-day evaluations. There's a significant learning curve, however.
