LOL!
I actually like RKK's version better (in a demented kind of way).

That's hideous. Why put bevels and a gradient on the 'hat' and nothing on the text? I'm not saying it needs bevels on the text because what it needs is bevels on absolutely nothing. But I mean, really?? That's just awful.
And to think...I had Arby's for dinner last night which was damn good by the way.

The problem is that it isn't really beveled, it's been 3Derized. Which makes it look like it's being viewed from an angle. But yet the logo itself is portrayed as it would look from straight on. With the plain flat test hovering there in the middle it just looks wrong.
Anybody else get an Escher vibe off it, but not in a good way?

Not Escher, I get a "Tugg with the Marketing degree came up with this while playing in PS, isn't it great?" vibe from it.

I realize that companies feel this overwhelming need to be idiots sometimes. But, why change something iconic that works? I don't like the new logo. I don't think it works. And...I think the idea was stupid to begin with!!
There...I feel better now!!!
What's next? Changing BP, NBC, ABC, McDonald's, Burger King...oh the list of logos we can screw up!!!
You know...I blame Microsoft. Ever since they did their's...now everyone has to do it. Hmm....maybe I should put in a call to Wal-Mart...they could use an upgrade to Web 2.0.... LOL

Reminds me of a couple of flexible curves.
