What do you think (looking for work)

Hello

I graduated with a 2.1 in Graphic Design from the London College of
Communication (London College of Printing) in June 2005.

From the 1 July - 30 September 2005, I was working as a Junior Designer
at Minale Tattersfield in Richmond. At the end of September, i was
made redundant because the company experienced a drop in commissions.
I can provide excellent references.

If you are interested in looking at my portfolio on line, please visit
my website www.ggfolio.com (comments and suggestion would be greatly appreciated)
or you can e-mail me @
gary.green@ggfolio.com.

If you would like to meet me and look at my portfolio in more detail,
please e-mail me.

Thanks

Gary Green

unfortunately, you find yourself in the same boat as a lot of other designers.

Check out these links to help with your job search.

Good luck.

Gary,

Sorry to hear about minale tattersfield. Your portfolio site comes up at about 100 pixels high in firefox, so it may be worth fixing that if you're trying to look for new work. Also the general use of flash to build it is abit pointless as there is no need for it. What i mean is, you're not doing or trying to do anything exciting or dynamic with it. If possible it would be really good to see your work represented in a nice clean html site which would be a hell of a lot quicker to navigate around. I get the feeling when i click one page to the next that nothing is happening, and although structuring the pages as seperate files is good in terms of jumping back and forth, as opposed to the usual flash sites that have the content in a single movie, when i click a link, it looks like nothing is happening, and i'm on broadband. I understand as a print designer you're not that bothered about showing off your web design skills, but so many companies now 'expect' you to have a website you can quickly browse, it's surprising how many of them can make a descision based on your website design as well! (the heathens!).

here's some suggestions of places to look if you're sticking around the london area.

I could not see a thing on Firefox so I randomly clicked the second link. Seems that you do pixel art mostly? Is that what you wanna specialize in?

Honestly, you had 6 pieces in your portfolio total- very few of which alluded to the ability to do actual finished pieces. Do you have more samples that you will throw on? I ask this because I really liked the last portfolio item- the pixel art city....if you did that by yourself, then there might be a niche you could explore.
