Indesign CS and font problems

Hi,
I'm having two problems with Indesign (both font related).
First is, Every time I open a few files I've been working on I get a warning saying that I have missing fonts. So, I try to find the font to update, fix it. But every single time the program unexpectantly quits on me. It is impossible to not only find where this font is in my file but to also get rid of it. Has anyone else had this problem?

My second problem is I'm sending a project off to print, so I preflighted and packaged. I ignored the missing font from above. However, a font that has not posed a problem and was not stated as missing is not in my fonts folders that was packaged. And another random font is in the folder, that is not in the file at all. I'm not quite sure why this would happen.

If anyone could offer any advice, I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks!

sounds like a corrupted font. you have a Font doctor os some sort? If not start dropping the fonts from the doc one at a time and then you will see which one is giving you the issue.
