Xara

I was wondering if anyone has heard of the graphics program Xara? I've used it for the last 3 years and still have yet to meet a single person thats heard of it, let alone uses it. It's a European, vector based graphics program. I think it rivals the abilities of Photoshop.http://www.xara.com This is the website to it if anyone wants to look into it. It's pretty cheap, like $180. Just a tip to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to Photoshop. It's a whole lot easier to use too.

If it is vector based, then it is not a alternative to Photoshop, it's a alternative to Illustrator.

Ryan's right. It could be an Illustrator alternative.
It's only for Windows machines too.
I didn't see anything on the website the Illy can't do.
Lava, do you have any trouble getting your stuff printed? or are you a web designer. It seems to have far more integration with web-design programs than the print programs.

For 24.00 it can't be all that bad of a buy. I would buy is but it depends on if I need it or not. Graphic Designer need full customization abilty to produce graphics. So we would have to test the coloring methods and design capabilities before we could even consider this software but it looks promising none the least.

The $24.00 is for xara menumaker. It's for making web menu's. xara x is the vector program and it is $179.00

Hey Lava, hope you are still checking this out...just recently I found some vector art done Xara X and it blew my mind, I mean literally. I have been trying to create certain effects (like and airbrushed look) in Illustrator that Xara X does automatically. I just downloaded a 30 tryout and I have been reading all about it. I am going to do turorials for the next week or so until I get used to it...you are right, it does Photoshop and Illustrator (pixel and vector) all in one program.

I am so thrilled about it, can't wait to get into it. do you have a site with your stuff? do you use the vector part of it, also? I happen to love drawing.

See ya,
peace
