yeah I took an technical illustration course once and they had us draw wood shavings and peels onions of the ying yang. I find the ribbons a good exercise. I also draw alot of circles and elipses...usually there are some scattered all over the page.
Drawing all my life, all the time with about 4 years practical training. The best course I ever took that BOOSTED my abilities tenfold was the technical illustration course I took...combined with the less percise and fine art drawing training I find a great middle ground.
