Happy Birthday "Louie Louie"
Today in 1963, "Louie Louie" is released by the Kingsmen ... one of the most covered songs of all time (everyone from The Mothers of Invention to sultry Julie London will take a shot at it), it is charged that the slurred lyrics are obscene ... the song is banned on some radio stations, especially in Indiana, where Governor Matthew Welch determines that the ditty is definitely dirty ... even the FBI gets caught up in the controversy, though the Bureau ultimately wraps up its 31-month investigation inconclusively stating that its audio technicians were "unable to interpret any of the wording in the record" ... in 2003, 754 guitarists play a 10-minute rendition of the song at Tacoma, Washington's, Cheney Stadium ... the event is thought to be the world's largest jam session.
I just think this is pretty funny. It took the FBI 31 months and probably cost a couple million dollar for them to conclude "we don't know what he's singing". The "Louie Louie" controversy still continues today as just a couple of years ago some high school in the corn belt banned it from football games forcing the marching band to go with their back up song, "Closer" by NIN.

Lmao Kool I didn't know it was the 43 Birthday ... its a year older than me
I remember hearing the furor from my mother that the song was band from many places, just because people were hearing what they wanted and the song didn't say anything 
funny they went with Closer over louie louie though 
People are so stupid

The actual lyrics....
Supposedly, the reason why none of the words could be understood was because the recording studio had the vocal mic hoisted up to the ceiling.
