Lots of them, unfortunately. The Humane Society frequently gets as many as 200 animals from one of these scummy mills. Lemme see if i can find a link.

Ewww that's horrible. I guess it's about supply and demand?

I can't imagine a puppy mill of that size in NZ because there wouldn't be enough people to buy the pups to make it worth the breeder's while.

Oh wait. I did a little research and it turns out there has been at least 1 puppy mill in NZ.

Fish has been more or less banned from our office as the "kitchen" is in the open space with all the cubicles. Those of us that sit hear the back (ie: me) have said, hey a little respect guys would be nice.

wow, that's disgusting Gar!!! I'm strongly opposed to puppy mills because of the poor living conditions and lack of attention the dogs get. It makes me sad. When Audi and I get our dogs (yes...dogs...it's plural now, because she discovered Boston Terriers) we will be sure to get them from a reputable breeder that will allow us to come to their place to see how they operate, and make sure the animals are treated right before buying.

Growing up, a very good friend of the family (who actually lives across the street from me and Audi) was a dog breeder. They had a place in the country where the dogs got plenty of exercise and were treated properly. A lot of their dogs were also award winning show dogs. I think they had a grand total of about 12 dogs, and they didn't force the breeding. That's the kind of place I will gladly give my money to for a pet.

Today is my 3 year anniversary, and my wifes 21st Birthday. I was supposed to work till 12, then take the rest of the day and tomorrow off. We have several meetings and customers who are supposed to pick up their orders, including a golf course who practically keeps this business running. My co-workers called and said he can't make it in today.
