I would like to know of a book which covers the theory of design. Anyone know of any good books you could direct me to?

Go to the resources thread here at GDF. There's all kinds of stuff there to help you out.

I have 2 here in the office:
'Conceptual Blockbusting: A guide to Better Ideas' 3rd edition James L. Adams
'Principles of Two Dimensional Design' Wucius Wong
But seriously, I get the majority of my design ideas and theories by just looking at other designs...always gets my juices flowing.

Books I have found Amazing are "Grid Systems in Graphic Design" by Josef Muller Brockman and "A Graphic Designer and his Design Problems" or something like that by the same Author. I will warn that they are out of print and expensive to get, but I bought them and found them totally worth it!

'Graphic Design Solutions' 2nd edition, by Robin Landa, is pretty good for me.
