Quark 5 (PC) - frame question

I'd like to just apply a line to the bottom of text boxes that I used as captions. Is that an option ... or it is only an option to apply an entire frame. I just want a line that separates that caption from other text, but don't want an entirerly framed box.

I don't want to draw a line andplace it throughout the document. Please tell me this is an option that I simply can't find anywhere.Please ... and thanks. Here's hoping.

If you just put a line on your master page where you want it, then it will be placed throughout your document on the same place on every page and then you can just delete it off the pages you don't want it on if there are any. I hope I understood your question right...LOL!

What about creating a stylesheet for the cutlines? Course, if you're all finished formating the document that won't be of any help to you I guess.

You also could do the Rule thing: command-shift-N, then specify a line to follow paragraphs... then make a text box that contains the caption and has a return... I don't know if that is exactly what you're looking for, but at least that could be done anywhere on the page instead of having it on a master page (and being locked to its position or having to manually move every time).

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Yes, it was done by the time you guys had responded, but that's ok.

The master method wouldn't have worked because I needed the line to move with the box ... as the body of the article changed, I'd have to move the box and the line would need to move with it.

I don't know about styles - I haven't ventured there yet, so can't comment ... not yet!
