the biggest challenge on 1 month
i begun working as graphic designer 1 month ago, and now i have a big, two project, one 11x18 and the other 24x36. my manager said to me that i HAVE to make it GREAT because the poster will be on more of 50 hospitals around my country.
its to make 7 slides with their description and (mini)photos in the poster. any ideas?:$
i see only one complaint, the photos that they gave to me are soooooooo small to a poster of 24x36, and my manager stricly said to me that have to be that mini-photos.. i said her that the photos are tiny but didnt pay attention on that.. if i can put it a filter or something..so...
im a real noob on working as designer its my first time!

You might want some kind of poster header so the viewer knows what they are looking at.

I wouldn't use a grunge font for a medical piece.
The colour bars are a good idea so that people can quick reference, but I'd tone down the colours a little. It's not a poster for kids y'know Try different shades of blue, greens, yellows.

GDF keeps timing me out tonight for some reason, so I have to be brief and to the point.
I read the headline as "National Goals for Patient Safety 2008." That's pretty serious, so consider what buda suggested: mute the colors some.
Remove the underline from the headings and replace with a bold font in the typeface. Underline = amateur.
Align all of the photos either Center or Left. They're all over the place.
The photo captions are too close to the rotated "Meta x" type to the left.
Overall, much improved from the thumbnail. Keep refining it until it's perfect!

I would toss teh web2.0 diagonal lines out the window. But if I did that that colors would be WAY to bright and hurtful on the eyes...
Also, what's up with the wedding rings/circles on the right side in every box? I would make them all different. They look like you copied and pasted them in every box "just cause you can."
Instead of having the text run the entire width of the page, try breaking it up into 2 colums per area. It loks like massive run on sentences.

National goals for the security of patients?
Is this for viewing by patients, practitioners or both? If I was a patient and saw this I would be alarmed at it's kiddie colours and attitude. I'd perhaps start to become scared that Dr Nick from the simpsons was going to be doing my surgery.
It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the poster. I'm guessing that all the staff know the patient security protocols already (at least I hope they do), so this poster is likely to be purely to instill confidence in the patients that thier security is of the upmost importance to the hospital. In order to instill this sort of confidence and trust in proceedure you need to be representing the goals with visual authority and maturity.
It's pretty, but your primary concern should be the message that you want to get across (99% of people will read no more than the headlines in a poster of this nature, unless they are in a hospital waiting room for hours on end, so you have to grab them with the headings and the style of your poster to get the message across)

If this poster really is to give confidence and a sense of security to the patients, this needs to look more serious.
