how do you embed fonts in Illustrator?

so the client on the other side sees the same fonts you do.

first make a copy of your file.

Select all your text.
goto Text>Create Outlines.

Just remember your text is now shapes, not edittable (that's why you kept a copy of the original).

Solves a lot of printing difficulties too.

yes, in that case make a new folder on your desktop, and copy paste your selected font folder into it, stuff it or zip it up, and send him a outlined version like printdriver said, and a non-outlined version, and your fonts folder......your client then puts that font into his fonts folder and booo ya, your all on the same page. hope that was clear enough. oh yeah, and if your going from Mac to PC, or vise versa its not going to work, as mac and PC fonts are different.

Yes OSX can use some PC fonts. No guarantees. Watch em close. Special punctuation and keycaps may go screwy.

there technically isn't a way to embed fontsin illustrator, it's not a publishing program. just what the others have said, convert your text to outlines or include a font folder on the disk. make sure you label the disk properly with format.

i wouldn't recommend using fonts across platforms though. especially for printing. too many issues can come up.
