Orphan fonts? I only know of orphan words... and widows.... =D

in the os9 days when you couldn't match a bitmap font with the outline font or visa versa they were called orphan fonts.

Ooh, oh... I get what you mean. Post-script outlines. Those really bug me when that happens.

if Helvetica Bold is male & Curlz MT is female
then goudy light would have to be a gay male while goudy bold would be a gay female
