Cd Cover Design Pricing Question

I have been asked to design a cd cover for a very well known musician for Christmas album but I am unsure what range I should charge. I have never delt with a client of this scale. They need 2 designs one for a limited release and another for the main album to be sold on tour with the artist and in stores. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pricing for a CD cover would be no different than pricing for just about any other print-related graphic design project, so I'm not sure what the question at hand really is.

For info on how to price your work, you can get a GAG Handbook, or you can peruse the pricing links in this post in our Frequently Discussed Topics to help arrive at a price that will work for you and for your client.

I'm with Virgo, "well known" ≠ jacked-up prices. Your regular rate should apply. GAG is a great resource.

Agreed. Don't look at it as getting more money out of them, look at it as getting more exposure for you.

Don't charge extra for the design. Charge extra for the private jet.

Thanks everyone, and I Apologize for posting pricing inquiries in this forum. I will look at it as more exposure, versus upselling due to the fact the design will be sold on as larger scale.

Always think fair. Never try to over charge someone because you think they have more money.
