Newsletter in Quark 5

I'm wondering how to best layout my 32 page newsletter in Quark 5 on a Mac. Will the printer want 32 individual 8.5'x11' pages? 16 individual 11'x17' pages? Is there an option in the software that I'm not familiar with? I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks.

Hi</div>
It's best to set it up as 32 individual pages, and use facing pages. This allows you to create spreads across two pages.</div>
It's best to ask the printer directly how they export the files. </div>
They will usually do impositioning for you. Don't create 16 spread size pages as this will prevent them from doing the imposition, unless you do it as you design, but that would be a nightmare for you.</div>
Also set up master pages for page numbering, headers, footers etc.</div>
Your document layout should have a front cover page at the top, then 15 double page spreads and then a back cover.</div>

I would call your printer and ask them how they want it or whats best for them before you set anything up. I do 64 pages in Quark, straight down, no spreads, and export each page to PDF..this is what they want and it is actually easier for me too. I use to have to do it in spreads until we changed presses.

Who says doodling isn't constructive?!
