Looking for InCopy reviews

i'm currently looking into InCopy as a possible new addition to my workplace. i've been looking at info on the features and reviews online, but i'm curious to know if anyone here has any gripes or praise for it that they would like to share.

I've used it and it works quite well.

Turn on track changes immediately - or else they won't be on.
Tracked changes are kept even when editing the file in InDesign, the person with InCopy can view the changes the person made in InDesign.

Pages cannot be added to an InCopy document. So if they need more pages you have to provide them with that on the off.

Getting your head around the Assignments is a bit of work, checking in and checking out documents the terminology is bit confusing.

If you need to know about incopy when you're using it you should check out www.incopysecrets.com

It's quite good for people editing the work, and it limits them to what tools they can use.

You can send them an entire layout and lock them out of moving images, or lock them out of different stories, depending on your needs.

If you have any specific questions I'd be glad to help if I can.

Good stuff - I'm not in work this week - but I have some guidelines at work that I've written up about using InCopy - I can forward them onto you if you want? It won't be till next week though.

and there's definitely no rush since adobe's new download manager is completely atrocious and i'm not sure when i'll manage to get myself a trial copy anyway!

well, i've finally gotten in InCopy free trial and i've started looking at it a bit. i made a copy of one of my recent projects to use as a guinea pig but i've run into a bit of weirdness already.

basically, the project i'm using is a three panel brochure. it's set up as two pages with facing pages turned off. InCopy doesn't seem to like this. when I open the assignment in InCopy and look at it in layout view the page borders are set up like a facing pages document--one is a left page and one is a right--but my page designs are still where they were in InDesign, neatly stacked one above the other and don't line up with the page borders at all. (i hope i explained that well enough and it makes sense.)

is there any way to get around this without changing my InDesign document to facing pages? i've looked around through the preferences in both InDesign and InCopy as well as on the web, but haven't found anything I thought would help.
