Illustrator won't let me highlight text?

Does anyone know, is there maybe something I've accidentally turned on/off... Illustrator is not letting me highlight text. I click on it and highlight it and then I can't see what I've highlighted! It acts like it's highlighted, I just can't see what I'm doing and it's REALLY annoying! I tried closing/re-opening Illustrator and even re-started my computer but it keeps doing it. HELP

Thanks...

That happens to me at work on the Mac in Illy CS. It is INCREDIBLY annoying! Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't...WTF?

Try hitting Command+H. That's a keyboard shortcut for Hide Edges. Very easy to do if you miss Command+G for Group. The Show Edge shortcut is also Command+H. So you correct the mistake by making a second mistake.

Try hitting apple H. Or on a PC it's prolly ctrl. H.
Or in the menu its View>Hide (or Show) Edges.
That's my only guess. I've done this before and it took a while to figure out.

Guess I was a little late...
