Photoshop layers

I need some help please (again). I have just started working with Adobe Creative Suite CS and it is the first time I have done any type of design work in several years. In hotshop, I want to copy a layer from one document to another, and when I do, the copy is always a lot smaller than the original is. I'm sure it is something simple, but I'm under the gun and can't figure it out.

I believe this has to do with the resolution between the 2 layers.....for instance if the resolution of the layer you are trying to copy into the other is lower.....the copied image will be smaller......u can up the resolution of the original layer before copying and it should help...................or you could use the transform feature after you have copied, to rescale the copied layer..........Under Edit>Transform>Scale

Not sure if this is the best way....but that is what i have done in the past

Well, if the layer you are trying to copy into is lower resolution, the image will be BIGGER, not smaller... but it's just a small technical error...
