Pictures from My City/Town
I thought I start a thread that features pictures from my city.
Post any photos from your city or town showing parks, events, etc.
I'll start it off with photos I just took at our local county fair.

you have quite the colorful/vivd little town. As if Technicolor was blasted all over.
Not my style, though knowing the style these fit into that uber-color feel.

Yep this is our county fair. Yes I did run HDR on the photos but the colors were already bright before.
The only problems I had with the fair (besides the hot weather) was that there were too many food stands. They out numbered the rides and everything else. And the other problem was that I stepped into doodoo when walking around to get pictures of the goats. Gotta watch where one steps.

Gaaahd I've been meaning to do this for so long... *sigh* I wish there was an extra day in the week for all the stuff I want to do.
Nice shots tho not a huge fan of the HDR though... feel like it's been done to death

I've never had funnel cakes before. I don't think they have them here.
I don't see how too many food stands is a problem? When I went to an all day festival in the city, there were only 2 food stands. We weren't allowed to leave the venue and come back and with 5000 or so people, the wait was at least an hour for terrible food. I think we paid $20NZ or $18US for 3 pieces of deep fried, flavoured bread. But then again, that festival was a shambles all around. Although they did get the toilets right. They must've had 100 toilets.

You should find a recipe on the intertoobs & start your own funnel cake stand...you'd make a million! They're so yummy.

They look cheap and easy to make too. I have to confess, I don't really do deep frying. I'll eat stuff someone else has deep fried. Somehow I can pretend that it wasn't cooked in a big vat of oil.
