PageMaker/Illustrator Question

I have a client trying to import an Illustrator EPS file into Pagemaker. She says she can't see it and gets a gray box. Is there a different way I need to save the Illustrator file? I'm on a Mac, she is on a PC. I'm working in Illustrator CS. Please help!!!

My guess is the Pagemaker can't make sense of a CS file.
Try exporting it as a Legacy file as far back as you need to so they can open it in whatever Pagemaker they are using. Be reall careful if you go back farther than Illy v9 cuz weird things will happen to transparency, extrusions and stuff.
Or it could be something simple like adding .eps to the end of the filename?

Thanks PrintDriver. I did go back to Illy 9 and I have the extension. I'll try going back further. Luckily I don't have any transparencies or anything like that. It's a simple two color logo. You don't think it has anything to do with Mac to PC?

You shouldn't have to if it is only a 2 color logo.
Need someone here who knows Pagemaker and why they'd get a gray box...

The lady is not really a graphics person, she just has all of the programs. Please let me know if you find out anything else. Thanks for your help.

You may have already checked this, but in the times that I have encountered a grey box effect when placing an eps file in PageMaker has to do with the EPS
having an object way outside of the printable area on the artboard making the file physically too large to properly display. I usually just zoom right out in illustrator
do a select all and see if there is anything else on the artboard. Also depending upon her platform whether the EPS has a PC or Mac preview may make a difference.

The grey box is most likely because the preview (created when the EPS is saved) is not a Windows format (usually a TIF preview is created on a PC). Perhaps the preview is in a Mac format that a PC cannot read?

OR it may be because the Pagemaker Display preferences are set to 'grey out' rather than 'standard' which shows a low-rez image of the TIF preview.

It is unlikely to be a version thing if you have saved back down to 9 - if this was the case, the EPS couldn't even be brought in. V9 is fine for PM.
