TAX Flyer
Hello I am a novice and I need your assistance. Is this a fair design? what should i put or delete from this design? I think the light blue should have some illustrator art faded into eg. swirls.....what you think and i dont know illustrator (smile) but somehow the background to me needs a little to enhance it

I wouldn't add swirls to the background. They'd serve no purpose but to clutter. I would suggest altering either the color of the background or the color of the shirt as they are far too similar. You need more contrast so the shirt doesn't blend in. At a quick glance, it looks to be all one color with a head, a tie, and an arm.
Are you working in rgb or cmyk? That blue is awfully bright, and I'm wondering it if's even in the cmyk gamut, and thus whether it will print the way it's displaying here.

Hi Virgo thanks for the quick reply. I understand about your comment on the background and I will take it. About the altering of the background re: shirt this i never see probably because i know the colours are different. should I change his shirt? or if the background what colour should i use, please bear in mind Im a novice (smile). I just check the Image mode and yes it is in CMKY. Which blue is bright and I will tone it down.
Thanks virgo awaiting your response

The colors are very saturated and have that 'primary' feel to them overall. I would search sites like kuler.adobe.com or colorschemer for some more rich color schemes that will make it look like you spent some more time on choosing colors rather than picking the first red blue and yellow you saw. With the light blue, I would change it to something that has less risk of blending with his shirt, but still keep it light so that the text is easy to read on top of it.
I would avoid the swirl idea, it is already rather busy with the amount of text that is there. if you are deperate for something other than a solid color, a very subtle texture or gradient might help give some interest but when I say subtle I mean very subtle. Its a background and if you go overboard it will be distracting and take away from the readability.

Some additional suggestions...
The darker blue box behind TAX COMPLIANCE the way to growth could stand to be a little taller, as the bottom line of text is flush with the bottom of the box. I'd extend it down a touch so it completely contains the text.
I'd change the font in the middle used for LET'S JOIN HANDS AND and PAY YOUR TAXES... Make it the same Franklin/Trade Gothic that you're using elsewhere.
I'm also worried a bit about your safety margins. The text at the bottom is a bit too close to the edge.
