Urgent Help w/ Quark - MAC to PC

I am redesigning a 24 page catalog, and am due to show a printed copy to my client. This is a Quark Document, and when I try to print it, some of the images come out fine, and others are a total blur. I am trying to trouble shoot this issue, but don't really know where the problem lies. Originally, this document was done on a MAC and I am using a PC, I dont know if that would have anything to do with it. It seems most of the files that aren't working are EPS files but that is the file type that the previous designer used, so I would assume that's not the problem. Please feel free to contact me via email!! Thanks! ~Amy

Hi Amykins28, welcome to the forum. I bet you're trying to print to a non post script printer. If so I "think" you can print to file and then distill a PDF and then print that and it should work.

Either what Kool said, or someone didn't send all the links to your Quark file (or they didn't relink). Check your Utilities>usage>pictures.

In Quark go to the menu bar--Utilities then to Usage then click the pictures tab and there you can see if images are linked, modified or missing.

Sure sounds like you have missing images that are not linked. It is just giving you a representative screen image. Like the others said, check all links.

There are a few links that are "missing" so I will give that a shot. But I did take one entire page, and relink everything, and it printed great (at Kinko's). I guess before I relink the entire Document, I'll start with the missing links. Thanks!

Ok, I relinked the Entire Document, and had it printed at Kinkos (as my printer is still acting weird). Some of the tables are fine, some have the wrong font on them and the words bleed out of the boxes. The tables still use a MAC font, so should I change the font entirely? Or try to re-save the bad tables, and import them again?

Kinkos may not have the fonts you use. Are you giving them a PDF or the Quark file? If you're sending the Quark file, try converting all of the text to outlines first. That way you don't have to worry about Kinkos not having your font, and you can keep the same fonts that you used originally. Be sure to keep a copy of the file with the original text (before converting it to outlines) in case you need to make changes.
