It’s definitely coming, and vectorizing could be one of the least valuable and lowest entry barriers tasks in the design world. Any person interested enough in design knows how to auto-trace an image and provide a “service” around it.
The value in logo design now will reside in your ability to discern and strategize what logo should the business have compared to the creation of the logo itself. And I’m even unsure how much time is left for even that strategy part to be soon replaced or be “good enough” for clients with AI.
It’ fu***ing sucks, and I feel like a madman right now for going full into logo design this year. I trust my vision, since so many will be discouraged by AI there could be potential in being so hyperfocused in logo design that I could stand out because of it. But the doubt is ever so looming…
