In readiness for Batman Day next month, I prepared something for Instagram.
Batman Day? I am a bit out of touch with pop culture these days. You’ll need to explain that one.
It’s not a national holiday or anything!
No-more “official” than Star Wars day really (May the 4th… lol)
But I wouldn’t be shocked if social media has a few extra batman posts that day. Superman has one too.
Does anyone here participate in Inktober? I’m considering using the prompts for each day to construct a short wordless comic over the month. Perhaps starring this little fella on a journey to explore somewhere.
Illustration skills aside (which are great to begin with), I have a small issue with “Dragon Boy Drake”.
How does the Dragon Boy take his pendant off, given the size of his head? And with the claws on his hands, that makes the likelihood of the pendant being knotted behind his neck unrealistic.
Nitpicking, I know. Still.
Ahem … Creatures with tails must have a hard time putting on pants in the morning.
Great question! Haha well… would you believe “magic”? Maybe I’ll rework the hands.
Also his trowsers have a hole for the tail.
Who’s to say the pendant isn’t sewn to the collar of his shirt (which is another point, but who’s counting, LOL.)
I’d leave the hands. They’re fun.
Artistic license. I fully accept that.
The pendant is on a chain with a clasp. Problem solved.
Unclasped by those claws? I think not.
you haven’t seen the back, it is a very large clasp.
or it is a bolo style chain which is hidden in the back.
I’m going with the theory that pendants are put on dragon boys soon after birth and never removed as their bodies and heads grow larger.
The shirt will smell of dragon sweat.
Wait. Dragons don’t sweat.
Clearly the pendant is on an adjustable toggle
I am loving the speculation! I have a potential solution.
If Goliath from “Gargoyles” has the dexterity to adjust his belt buckle with those tin-openers he calls hands, then I will borrow Disney’s creative license and and say my character “just can” as well. He’s very dextrous. Ever untangled a knot in your shoelace with your fingernails? He does it like that.
Back in 2018 (uh… seven years ago!?) I drew a Mario x Deadpool mashup.
Recently, I revisited it. Seemed like a fun challenge to redraw some old stuff.
