Woaaa gargoyles is owned by disney. Didn’t John frakes direct it? Mr #2 from star trek next gen.

I don’t know if Frakes directed it but I do know he did the voice of the villain, David Xanatos, the businessman who flew the castle (and the titular Gargoyles) from Scotland to New York at the start of the show. Keith David played Goliath, he currently plays the president in Rick & Morty and also did voices in the Mass Effect and Saints Row video game series.

Just did this one yesterday. What I’m trying to work on is stylisation, expressiveness and storytelling. I’m attempting to go really characterful with Venom, over-egging his proportions, using really thick, meaty line weights and giving him an overall inky/oily look. No tooth shall be identical! I even wanted him to look a bit like he’d turned his head but his jaw hadn’t caught up. I always liked the “bulldog” look they gave the top of his head in the 90’s animated show, so I had to include that too! With Spidey, that’s the story - he’s done this so many times he’s just relaxed and screwing around. With the lines, creases, lighting and even the noise texture I’m trying to make it feel less sterile as a digital art process and emphasise the hand-drawn vibes. Also trying not to use gradients and soft shading right now, and enjoying the decisiveness and clarity of being forced to choose exactly where the hard shading goes. No fudging it. No layer blending modes either, and actually choosing the colours. Rambling now, so I’ll just leave this here…
